Hunt and Fish with the Blast and Cast Package
Start your day in the quiet of the marsh, tucked into a duck blind as the sun rises and the first flights move overhead. Feel the stillness of the early morning, broken only by wings cutting through the air and the call of waterfowl in the distance.
After the morning hunt, return to Saltgrass Lodge for a relaxed, chef-prepared lunch and time to unwind. Then head back out on the water for an afternoon of inshore fishing, cruising through winding bays and marshes while targeting redfish along the Louisiana coast. It’s a full day immersed in the rhythm, scenery, and tradition of South Louisiana’s outdoors.
Saltgrass Outdoors Duck Hunting Packages
You may also choose to duck hunt only. Duck hunting packages consist of an early morning duck hunt and lunch at Saltgrass Lodge. Relax at the lodge afterward, and watch Chef Caterina prepare dinner.
Packages Include: All meals are included for all packages and feature a 4-5 course dinner, full breakfast, and hot lunch at Saltgrass Lodge. Included with your stay is beer/wine. Alcoholic beverages are served at the lodge, not aboard boats. Professional Saltgrass captains clean and bag your catch, bring an ice chest to take everything home after the hunt.
What to Bring on Your Duck Hunt
Saltgrass Lodge provides experienced guides. Hunts performed from dry blinds or boat blinds. Sportsmen are responsible for bringing the following supplies:
- Shotgun- 12 or 20 gauge
- Ammunition: Steel shot ammo for hunting and lead for skeet shooting
- State and Federal Duck Stamps
- Local Hunting License
- Federal Duck Stamp – Post Office / Local Outfitter
- Louisiana Duck Stamp – LA Fish and Wildlife
- Pair of knee boots or rubber boots
- Warm camo clothing
