Hunt and Fish with the Blast and Cast Package
Saltgrass guides provide guests over 90% limit rates on average due to the heavily populated zone. The Blast and Cast is a tour of excursions for both the hunter and the angler in our sportsmen. Hit the duck blind in the morning, back at Saltgrass Lodge for lunch, then back to the boat for an afternoon inshore fishing trip for redfish. Hosted on our back deck overlooking the MS river, lunch is served while clay skeet are launched.
Saltgrass Outdoors Duck Hunting Packages
You may also choose to duck hunt only. Duck hunting packages consist of an early morning duck hunt and lunch at Saltgrass Lodge. Relax at the lodge afterward, and watch Chef Caterina prepare dinner.
Packages Include: All meals are included for all packages and feature a 4-5 course dinner, full breakfast, and hot lunch at Saltgrass Lodge. Included with your stay is beer/wine. Alcoholic beverages are served at the lodge, not aboard boats. Professional Saltgrass captains clean and bag your catch, bring an ice chest to take everything home after the hunt.
What to Bring on Your Duck Hunt
Saltgrass Lodge provides experienced guides. Hunts performed from dry blinds or boat blinds. Sportsmen are responsible for bringing the following supplies:
- Shotgun- 12 or 20 gauge
- Ammunition: Steel shot ammo for hunting and lead for skeet shooting
- Knee boots/waders
- State and Federal Duck Stamps
- Local Hunting License
- Federal Duck Stamp – Post Office / Local Outfitter
- Louisiana Duck Stamp – LA Fish and Wildlife
- Pair of knee boots or rubber boots
- Warm camo clothing
